Technological expertise from
a pioneer in quantitative investment
A mindset
Research and innovation are, in the core, at the heart of our business. In fact, the quantitative investment professionals you meet at Chahine Capital are most often specialised researchers and engineers. They represent a new generation of financial managers and are behind of our achievements.
There is another equally powerful driver that has been instrumental in making Chahine Capital a leader in its field: passion for what we do. We believe that fund investment is on the verge of the technological revolution brought about by artificial intelligence. We are already part of this evolutionary dynamic. In addition to the search for performance, it is also a question of better risk control, greater reactivity, more pragmatism and full transparency.
Expertise
European pioneer of quantitative equity investment, Chahine Capital has been nurturing a strong alliance between science and finance since 1998. Our approach is based on a conviction: analysing economic and financial data of thousands of companies all over the world is no longer on a human scale. But they are on the scale of powerful algorithms specifically developed and optimised.
Our approach is to first create proprietary algorithmic models that can adapt to different market configurations, and to identify stocks able to repeatedly and positively surprise investors.
Our technological solutions have been proven through Digital Funds, a Sicav that has delivered one of the best risk-adjusted performances in the industry for over 20 years. The first recipe for success: models designed to beat their markets over time. The second: a team of researchers and engineers with expertise in performance engineering, as demonstrated by the successful integration of artificial-intelligence-based models.

Our history
At the end of the 1990s, Jacques Chahine, PhD in Mathematics and Statistics, graduate of ENSAE Paris, designed sophisticated algorithmic models. They were first implemented with the creation of the Digital Funds SICAV (1998) and its first sub fund: Digital Stars Europe. In 2004, the Luxembourg based company was created. After two years of research, a new sub fund has been made available for investors: Digital Stars Europe Ex-UK. Like its precursor, it quickly proved itself.
The years 2016/2017 were characterized by three important events: the launch of Digital Stars Europe Smaller Companies (2016), the acquisition of J. Chahine Capital by Iris Finance International group (2017), and the opening up of Digital Stars US Equities (2017). Digital Stars Eurozone will follow-up in 2018.
Committed to a responsible approach, Chahine Capital is a signatory of the UN PRI (UN Principles for Responsible Investment). In 2019, it will grant LuxFLAG ESG (Luxembourg Finance Labeling Agency) label for four of its funds.
The investment team
Our scientific approach to investing entirely based on the excellence and experience of the talents we bring together. For Chahine Capital, out-of-the box thinking, enthusiasm, creativity and pragmatism are not just qualities, they are skills we are looking for.
